Botox® is a simple, non-surgical, physician-administered treatment that can temporarily smooth moderate to severe facial lines caused by aging and muscle movements.
Classic examples of facial lines include frown lines between the eyebrows and crows feet around the eyes. Botox® is the only treatment of its type approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Botox® is a purified protein which reduces the activity of the muscles that cause facial lines and thus, softening and preventing further wrinkling from occurring.
The procedure for Botox at our clinic is simple and effective with immediate results – a few tiny injections – and there’s a noticeable improvement.
The results can last up to 6 – 8 months.
How safe is Botox treatment?
For most people the procedure is very safe.
In 2005, almost 3.3 million procedures were performed with FDA approved Botox® Cosmetic.
This number has increased considerably since then.
Hydrafill was approved in April 2004 for injection into the skin for correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds (such as smile lines) by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Hydrafill and Restylane have successfully undergone extensive testing including scientific clinical trials to establish its safety and effectiveness.

Is there any discomfort with Botox?
Our clinicians are skilled at administering precision injections as painlessly as possible. To minimise discomfort, a very fine needle and only a small amount of liquid is used. A local anaesthetic is not usually required before your Botox (though it is available nonetheless).
Will I need time off work after my Botox treatment?
You can take on all of your usual daily activities immediately after your treatment. People will not notice that you have had Botox treatment. However, slight temporary bruising or redness is possible.
You can also start eating, drinking, wearing make-up soon after the treatments.
How often will I need treatment for Botox?
To maintain your new youthful look you may need ‘touch-up’ treatments twice a year with Botox®. Touch-up treatments with dermal fillers (Hydrafill and Restylane) are also usually needed twice yearly, as over time these natural fillers are absorbed by your body. Thus, if you decide to stop treatment your skin will gradually return to its original shape. Our experienced clinicians will develop a tailor-made treatment plan that is right for you.
