Invisalign
Now you can smile more during treatment, as well as after.
Invisalign® aligners are essentially invisible, removable and comfortable aligners. They are amongst the most popular treatments in cosmetic dentistry. Invisalign® can help you get the great smile you’ve always wanted because it’s virtually invisible, so no one can tell you’ve decided to straighten your teeth.
Our highly skilled Orthodontists will create a specific Invisalign aligner to match each patient’s requirements. This way, the Invisalign aligners can move your teeth with the maximum level of comfort!
The benefits
Removable – so you can eat and drink what you want during treatment. This also means you can brush and floss as normal, whilst undergoing Invisalign treatment.
Comfortable – because there’s no metal to cause mouth abrasions during treatment. Furthermore, no metal braces and wires, usually means less time spent at your dental practice receiving orthodontic treatment, getting adjustments.
Compatible – Invisalign’s also compatible with dental implants, so if you’re worried this might be an issue, it isn’t!
More about Invisalign
Treats a vast array of alignment issues
The alignment issues which Invisalign can treat, are:
Overbite – where upper teeth protrude above the lower teeth
Underbite – where lower teeth protrude past the upper teeth
Diastema / Gapped teeth – this is when there is a space between the teeth
Open bite – where the teeth are not aligned properly when the mouth is closed, i.e. the upper and lower teeth don’t touch
Crossbite – this is where some of the upper teeth are behind the lower teeth, when the mouth is closed
Quick results
Treatment times vary from patient to patient, however in most adult cases, you can expect straight teeth within 18 months. With regards to under 18s, usually treatment is complete within two to three years.
Due to the fact Invisalign is effectively an invisible brace, you can start to see fantastic results within 1 month! This is one of the many benefits of Invisalign treatment. Every two weeks a new aligner is set to ensure that your teeth straighten into shape.

Key facts to remember
After-care
It’s imperative that dental hygiene is increased whilst on Invisalign treatment. Keeping your aligners clean is extremely important, but really simple. After brushing your own teeth, you’ll need to use a toothbrush and toothpaste to clean your aligners. Once this is done, simply rinse it with lukewarm water – then you’re ready to go!
You’ll need to wear a retainer after treatment
Unfortunately, just like regular braces, a retainer is essential after treatment in order for your teeth to stay in place. Once treatment is completed, you’ll initially need to wear your retainers throughout the day, though eventually you’ll only be required to wear it at night.

Pain-free
With Invisalign treatment, there is no pain! Depending on the patient however, some slight sensitivity may be felt particularly within the first 48 hours. This is normal and usually means that the treatment is working, and your teeth are gradually forming into place.
It’s possible to remove them for special occasions
If you’ve got a wedding or an important interview to attend, it’s easy for you to remove your aligners for the duration of it before placing them back in.
Aligners need to be worn for roughly 22 hours per day, which accounts for around 2 hours where it’s not worn during meals, brushing/cleaning etc. This means that to remove them for one event, for a couple of hours every once in a while, is harmless. This means that for important events, you won’t feel restricted!
