Dental Veneers / Leeds

Design the smile that defines you

Dental veneers are ultra-thin, custom-crafted ceramic or composite covers bonded to the front of your teeth — transforming shape, shade and symmetry in one of cosmetic dentistry’s most dramatic upgrades. At Clarendons, we design every veneer around your natural features: face shape, skin tone, smile line. The result is a smile that looks unmistakably like yours — just noticeably, confidently better.

At Clarendons, facial rejuvenation treatments complement your dental work, softening fine lines, refreshing tired features and restoring natural youthful volume. Delivered by qualified dental professionals with advanced training in facial aesthetics, our approach prioritises subtle, natural results over obvious “work.”

Smile Makeovers / Leeds

Your personalised transformation

A smile makeover isn’t a single treatment. It’s a plan — shaped around you. Combining the cosmetic treatments that deliver the transformation you’re looking for, from subtle refinement to complete reinvention. Maybe it’s Invisalign to straighten, whitening to brighten and composite bonding to finish. Maybe it’s veneers to dramatically transform your smile line. Maybe it’s something else entirely. We design it together.

White Fillings / Leeds

Invisible fillings for a confident, natural smile

Old silver-amalgam fillings show every time you laugh. White composite fillings don’t. If you’re tired of seeing dark flashes in your smile, upgrading to tooth-coloured white fillings is one of the simplest, most transformative cosmetic treatments we offer. Bonded directly to the tooth, colour-matched to your enamel, and virtually invisible when smiling — cosmetic white fillings restore your smile’s confidence without anyone noticing the work.

FAQs

Your questions about cosmetic dentistry, answered

FAQs / Cosmetic Dentistry / Composite Bonding / leeds

What's the difference between composite bonding and porcelain veneers?

Composite bonding is more affordable, reversible, and completed in one visit—ideal for subtle corrections. Porcelain veneers are more durable and stain-resistant, lasting 15+ years, and are better suited to significant smile transformations.

How long does composite bonding last?

With proper care and regular hygiene appointments, composite bonding typically lasts between 5 and 10 years. We recommend avoiding very hard foods and maintaining a good oral hygiene routine to maximise the longevity of your results.

Is composite bonding painful?

No. Composite bonding is a non-invasive treatment that requires no drilling and no injections. Most patients find the experience entirely pain-free and comfortable.

How long does a composite bonding appointment take?

One of the main benefits of composite bonding in Leeds at Clarendon Dental Spa is that it is usually completed in a single appointment. Depending on the number of teeth being treated, the process typically takes between one and two hours.

How many veneers will I need?

Depends on the transformation you’re after. For single-tooth concerns (a chip, a single discoloured tooth), one veneer. For subtle improvements across your smile line, 4 veneers (upper front teeth). For a complete smile transformation visible when you smile widely, 6–8 veneers. For a full makeover, 10–20 teeth. At your consultation we’ll assess your smile and recommend the right number for your goals.

Composite vs porcelain veneers — what’s the difference?

Composite veneers are sculpted directly onto your teeth in one visit, are more affordable and completely reversible, but last 5–7 years before refresh. Porcelain veneers are lab-crafted over several weeks, cost more, require some tooth preparation, but last 15+ years and are more stain-resistant. For subtle changes, composite often makes sense; for full transformations, porcelain delivers superior longevity and aesthetics.

Will my teeth be heavily shaved down for veneers?

Not at Clarendons. We use a minimally invasive approach that preserves as much natural tooth structure as possible. Many veneers require 0.3–0.5mm of enamel reduction — roughly the thickness of the final veneer. In some cases (called ‘no-prep’ veneers), minimal or no preparation is needed. We’ll always minimise drilling and preserve what can be preserved.

How long do porcelain veneers last?

With proper care, porcelain veneers typically last 10–15 years, often longer. Longevity depends on oral hygiene, diet and habits (grinding, biting hard objects). Regular check-ups and hygiene appointments extend their life significantly. When eventual replacement is needed, the process is straightforward. Composite veneers typically last 5–7 years before needing refresh or replacement.

FAQs / Cosmetic Dentistry / Facial Rejuvenation / leeds

Can I combine facial aesthetics with my dental treatment?

Absolutely — and it’s often the best approach. A new smile paired with subtle facial refreshment delivers a more complete transformation than either alone. Many of our patients combine veneers, whitening or smile makeovers with anti-wrinkle or filler treatments. We’ll plan the timing to get the best overall result.

Will I look overdone or ‘frozen’?

Not at Clarendons. Our approach is deliberately conservative — we’d rather under-treat and top up if needed than overdo it. The frozen, over-filled look comes from aggressive treatment or unskilled injectors. Expert aesthetics deliver subtle refreshment that leaves your features mobile and natural. You should look like a rested version of yourself, not a different person.

How long do results last?

Anti-wrinkle treatments typically last 3–4 months before gradually returning to baseline. Dermal fillers last 6–18 months depending on the product, location and individual metabolism. Most patients book top-up appointments every few months to maintain results. Over time, some patients find they need less frequent top-ups as facial muscles ‘learn’ new relaxed patterns.

Are anti-wrinkle treatments safe?

Yes — when delivered by qualified medical professionals with proper training in facial anatomy. Anti-wrinkle injections have decades of clinical data behind them and an excellent safety profile in experienced hands. Risks are low but include mild temporary effects (bruising, tenderness). Serious complications are very rare in skilled practice. Always choose a qualified, medical practitioner — not a beauty salon.

FAQs / Cosmetic Dentistry / Smile Makeovers / leeds

Is a smile makeover painful?

Most individual treatments involved are comfortable with local anaesthetic. Sedation is available for nervous patients or for larger appointments. Some mild tenderness is normal after certain procedures (orthodontics, tooth preparation for veneers) but easily managed. We pace treatment sensibly to avoid overwhelming you, and check in throughout to make sure you’re comfortable.

Will my makeover look natural?

Absolutely — that’s our priority. We design every smile around your natural features (face shape, skin tone, lip line, speech patterns) rather than chasing celebrity trends. Subtle variations in shade, translucency and shape mimic real teeth. Many patients tell us friends and family comment they look ‘great’ without being able to identify exactly what changed — the ultimate compliment.

How long does a smile makeover take?

Timelines vary enormously depending on treatments involved. A straightforward whitening-and-bonding refresh can be completed in 4–6 weeks. A comprehensive makeover involving orthodontics, implants, whitening and veneers might take 12–18 months. At your consultation, we’ll provide a clear timeline for your specific plan. We never rush important work; the goal is a result you’ll love long-term.

Am I suitable for a smile makeover?

Most patients are — provided underlying teeth and gums are healthy. We’ll carry out a full assessment at your consultation, addressing any oral health issues first (like gum disease or decay) before cosmetic treatment begins. Age, previous dental work and tooth loss don’t rule you out — we’ve transformed smiles for patients in their 20s through to their 70s.

FAQs / Cosmetic Dentistry / White Fillings / leeds

Can white fillings stain?

They can pick up some surface staining over time — especially if you drink lots of coffee, tea, red wine, or smoke. Modern composites are more stain-resistant than those of decades past. Regular hygiene appointments include polishing that removes most surface staining and keeps your fillings looking fresh. Deep staining is rare.

Are white fillings mercury-free?

Yes. White fillings are made from a mixture of synthetic resin and tiny ceramic particles. They contain no mercury whatsoever. This is increasingly important to patients concerned about mercury exposure from traditional amalgam fillings.

Do white fillings last as long as metal ones?

Close. Modern composite fillings typically last 7–10 years, versus 10–15+ for metal amalgam. However, composite bonds directly to the tooth (strengthening it), doesn’t corrode, looks natural, and is mercury-free. Most patients and dentists now consider composite the better long-term choice despite the slightly shorter lifespan. Regular check-ups catch any issues early.

Should I replace my old silver fillings with white ones?

From a purely aesthetic perspective, absolutely — tooth-coloured fillings are far more attractive. From a dental perspective, old amalgam fillings that are still sound and sealing well don’t need urgent replacement. However, if they’re old, cracked or starting to leak, replacement makes sense both cosmetically and clinically. We’ll assess your specific fillings and recommend what’s genuinely needed.
