Microscope-enhanced root canal treatment at Clarendon Dental Spa, Leeds

Expert Treatment Under the Microscope

The best equipment for the best results

We’re committed to delivering exceptional endodontic care by investing in the best equipment available. From microscope-enhanced treatment to modern digital imaging and high-precision instruments, every tool is chosen to improve accuracy, comfort and long-term results — combining state-of-the-art technology with expert clinical skill.

  • Better visibility for more accurate treatment

A dental microscope gives the clinician exceptional magnification and lighting, revealing fine details inside the tooth that are otherwise impossible to see. Hidden canals, cracks and complex anatomy can be identified and treated with far greater accuracy.

  • Higher success rates and safer procedures

Better visibility means more precise cleaning, shaping and sealing of the root canal system, reducing the risk of missed infection or complications. Microscope-assisted root canal treatment offers more predictable, longer-lasting outcomes.

  • Advanced care for complex cases

Microscopes are especially valuable for retreatments, calcified canals, unusual anatomy or locating separated instruments — allowing specialist-level care even in the most difficult situations.

Endodontist Dr Fadi Kreishan at Clarendon Dental Spa, Leeds

Why See an Endodontist for Root Canal?

Advanced training for the highest success rates

Having root canal treatment carried out by an endodontist — a dentist with advanced training focused on the inside of the tooth — offers clear advantages in precision, comfort and long-term success, especially in complex or previously failed cases. Our endodontist, Dr Fadi Kreishan, holds an MSc in Endodontics from the University of Manchester and MFDS from the Royal College of Surgeons, and focuses on preserving natural teeth through precise, evidence-based treatment.

  • Advanced training and expertise

Endodontists concentrate on diagnosing and treating problems inside the tooth. This focus allows confident management of complex anatomy, retreatments, and curved or calcified canals that general treatment may not routinely cover — leading to more predictable outcomes.

  • Advanced technology for higher success rates

Using microscopes, ultrasonics and high-precision instruments allows areas to be seen and treated that are invisible without magnification — meaning more thorough cleaning, fewer missed canals and higher long-term success rates.

  • Better outcomes for difficult cases

Teeth with previously failed root canals, unusual anatomy or persistent infection benefit greatly from advanced endodontic care, helping preserve natural teeth that might otherwise be lost.

Post and core build-up after root canal at Clarendon Dental Spa, Leeds

Posts, Cores & Rebuilding the Tooth

Restoring strength after root canal

When a tooth has been heavily broken down by decay or a large old filling, there may not be enough tooth left to hold a crown after root canal treatment. In these cases we place a post and core — a small support anchored inside the treated root that rebuilds the foundation, so a strong, natural-looking crown can be fitted on top.

It’s a key step in giving a root-treated tooth the best long-term chance, and we’ll explain clearly whether your tooth needs one before we begin. Rebuilding heavily compromised teeth is a core part of Dr Kreishan’s restorative and endodontic work.

Endodontic re-treatment of a failed root canal at Clarendon Dental Spa, Leeds

Endodontic Re-Treatment in Leeds

A second chance to save a previously treated tooth

Not every root canal succeeds first time — sometimes infection or discomfort returns months or years later. Endodontic re-treatment gives that tooth a second chance: we carefully remove the previous root filling, clean and disinfect the canal system under magnification, and re-seal it to modern standards.

With a dental microscope and 3D imaging we can often find missed or calcified canals that are a common cause of a failed first attempt — frequently saving a tooth that would otherwise be lost. If you’ve been told a previously treated tooth is failing, it’s well worth an assessment before considering extraction.

Why might my tooth need a post and core?

If there isn't enough natural tooth left to hold a crown after root canal treatment, a post and core rebuilds it and gives the tooth the best long-term chance.

Will you tell me if I need a post and core?

Yes. We'll explain clearly whether your tooth needs one before we begin treatment.
