Dentures at Clarendon Dental Spa in Leeds are custom-made full or partial appliances that replace missing teeth, designed for a natural appearance, comfortable fit and restored function so you can eat, speak and smile with confidence.
At Clarendon Dental Spa, every denture is carefully crafted to suit your features and provide a secure, balanced fit, so it looks natural and feels comfortable day to day. Where a case is more challenging, it is reviewed by Dr Ahmed Al-Ani, MSc Restorative & Aesthetic Dentistry (University of Manchester, Merit). Voted Dental Practice of the Year 2026 by real patients.

Full dentures replace all the teeth in an arch with a custom-made, natural-looking appliance designed for comfort, function and appearance.
Full (or complete) dentures replace all the natural teeth in either your upper or lower jaw (or both). They’re made from a combination of high-grade acrylic and artificial teeth (composite or porcelain), custom-crafted to match your gum contours and facial features. Upper dentures cover the roof of your mouth, using suction and muscle grip to stay in place.
Lower dentures are held by the tongue and muscles of the lower jaw (and often stabilised by implants, as the lower arch offers less natural retention). Modern dentures fit precisely and look natural — often indistinguishable from real teeth.
A poorly-made denture is a daily misery — rubbing, slipping, clicking, making eating and speaking difficult. A well-made denture is barely noticeable once fitted: comfortable for all-day wear, functional for normal eating, natural in appearance. At Clarendons, we take the time and multiple fittings needed to get full dentures right. Detailed impressions. Careful bite registration. Try-in stages so you see the result before final fabrication. The difference shows in how dentures perform day to day.
Our award-winning clinic in Leeds city centre makes the denture journey calm and supportive. We know that transitioning to or upgrading full dentures is emotionally significant for most patients — and we take that seriously. Multiple appointments to get things right. Honest conversations about expectations. Flexible payment options. And ongoing aftercare to adjust dentures as your mouth changes over time.

Made from precise impressions of your gums and jaw. Multiple fittings to perfect comfort and function. Not mass-produced — individually made for you.
Shade, shape and translucency matched to your facial features. Modern materials mimic real teeth closely. No one will know they’re not the real thing.
Traditional full dentures work brilliantly for many patients. For extra stability — particularly for lower dentures that tend to move — we can add 2–4 implants to anchor the denture firmly in place.

A partial denture replaces one or several missing teeth and clips around your remaining natural teeth for a secure, comfortable fit.
Partial dentures are removable prosthetics that replace one or more missing teeth while working around your remaining natural teeth. They typically use small clips or precision attachments to anchor to healthy natural teeth, holding the denture firmly in place during eating and speaking.
Common materials include acrylic (most affordable, typically larger and pinker), cobalt chrome metal-framed (thinner, stronger, better long-term); and flexible nylon (tooth-coloured clasps that are nearly invisible but somewhat less precise). Each has advantages depending on your specific situation.
Many partial dentures look clunky, feel uncomfortable and trap food against natural teeth — accelerating decay and gum disease in the teeth they’re meant to complement. At Clarendons, our partials are designed thoughtfully: clasps positioned for minimum visibility, framework designed for comfort and hygiene, teeth shaded and shaped to blend naturally. Every partial is a considered piece of dental engineering, not a rush job.
Our award-winning clinic in Leeds city centre delivers partials properly. Multiple fitting appointments. Trial try-ins so you approve aesthetics before final fabrication. Careful bite adjustment to ensure comfortable chewing without damage to your natural teeth. Detailed guidance on cleaning and care. And regular reviews to ensure long-term fit and oral health for the teeth around your partial.

Modern partial dentures look natural when smiling. Metal-framed and flexible options minimise visible clasps. Shade and shape matched to your remaining teeth.
Gaps cause remaining teeth to drift and over-erupt, leading to bite problems. Partial dentures prevent this by maintaining position. They also distribute chewing forces more evenly.
Significantly less expensive than implants or bridges. Removable for cleaning (keeping both your natural teeth and the denture in good shape). A flexible, accessible option.

A spoon denture is a lightweight denture that replaces a single missing tooth — most often at the front. Because it’s simple to make, it’s a fast, straightforward option, ideal as an immediate or temporary solution so you’re never left with a visible gap while you decide on a longer-term plan.
At our Leeds clinic we’ll advise honestly whether a spoon denture, a partial denture or a dental implant is the best long-term choice for you — a spoon denture is often the quickest way to restore your smile in the meantime.
Valplast (flexible) dentures are made from a soft, thin, biocompatible nylon rather than rigid acrylic or metal. They flex slightly to fit snugly against your gums, making them more comfortable, more discreet and far less likely to cause sore spots than traditional partial dentures.
Because the clasps are gum-coloured rather than metal, flexible dentures are virtually invisible when you smile. They’re an excellent choice for replacing one or several teeth where you want a lightweight, natural-looking option without metalwork, and are popular with patients who’ve found conventional partials uncomfortable or who have metal sensitivities. At Clarendons we use a digital intraoral scanner to capture your mouth precisely — avoiding traditional putty impressions wherever possible — and work with a specialist lab for a comfortable, natural fit.

Cobalt chrome dentures use a slim, cast metal framework instead of bulky acrylic, making them dramatically thinner, stronger and more durable than standard acrylic partials. The rigid framework spreads biting forces evenly and is kinder to your remaining natural teeth.
The slimmer base is more comfortable on the palate and conducts temperature, so food and drink feel more natural. Cobalt chrome is the premium choice for partial dentures where longevity and a precise, secure fit matter most — custom-cast to your mouth with tooth-coloured components for a natural look. At your consultation we'll advise whether cobalt chrome, flexible or acrylic best suits you.

We use a digital intraoral scanner to capture your mouth precisely, avoiding traditional putty impressions wherever it’s clinically possible. For many patients that means no gagging, no mess and a more comfortable appointment.
A digital scan also produces a highly accurate 3D model that helps our lab craft a better-fitting denture, often more quickly. Where a conventional impression still gives the best result for your case, we’ll tell you honestly and use that instead — the goal is always the most accurate, comfortable fit.

A cracked, broken or loose denture doesn’t have to mean weeks without your smile. We offer next-day denture repairs and relines at our Leeds clinic, so a damaged or ill-fitting denture can be back with you quickly.
A reline refreshes the fit of your existing denture as your gums naturally change shape over time — restoring comfort and grip without the cost of a whole new denture. Bring your denture in and we’ll assess it and advise on the quickest, most cost-effective fix.
