Combination whitening pairs an in-chair laser whitening session with custom take-home whitening trays. The laser session (around 90 minutes) kickstarts the process with dramatic, immediate results. Home whitening (2–4 weeks of nightly use) then extends the effect, reaches any remaining surface staining, and stabilises the final shade. Together, they deliver a whitening outcome several shades beyond what either treatment alone can achieve — and the results last significantly longer.

Combination whitening is priced as a package — typically significantly less than booking both treatments separately. It includes your consultation, digital scans, custom trays, in-chair laser session and initial gel supply. At your consultation we’ll provide a clear quote. Interest-free finance is available to spread the cost.

How long do combination whitening results last?

Results typically last 2–3 years before gradual darkening returns — longer than either treatment alone. With occasional top-ups using your home trays (a few nights every 6–12 months), you can maintain your brightness indefinitely. Avoiding heavy staining habits (coffee, red wine, smoking) extends results further.

Will sensitivity be worse than single-treatment whitening?

Not necessarily. We sequence the treatments carefully to avoid overloading your teeth, and use rest periods between sessions to minimise sensitivity. Some mild, short-term sensitivity is normal — it usually settles within 1–2 days of each stage. Desensitising gel and sensitive toothpaste help.

Is combination whitening worth the extra cost?
